ATCL Collective Highlights From LFDW 2017

The About That Curvy Life Collective showcase at The 2017 Heineken Lagos Fashion & design week was a show stopping, curvy pink power movement and sensual macho explosion. As always, the ATCL Collective show did not fail to exceed  crowd expectations as the models swayed and strutted on the runway delivering class, style and so much positive vibes with the crowd cheering in approved appreciation.

The Collective show which was initiated and executed by media personality/Founder of Latasha Ngwube and powered by international tech company Intel, culminated two fierce womenswear designers and one strong male designer into one powerful loop. The presentation was opened by Assian, in-between came Osuare, and Nori Clothings wrapped up the collective.

A few select African celebrities graced the runway showcasing pieces of each designer. Here are the highlights below.

Opening the show was Project Fame finalist, Isaac Gerald serenading the crowd with bars from Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful. Isaac was clad in a navy blue wrap shirt and matching ankle length pants from the male plus designer Assian.

Renowned celebrity chef, Benedict also hit the runway walking for plus malewear brand Assian. He was seen taking bold strides in tune to a house remix version of Aretha Franklin’s “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” in a navy blue print kimono and matching fringed pants. The look was pulled together with a crisp white shirt and navy tie, topped with a jaunty black hat.

Coming all the way from across the border was South African Curvy blogger, model, body positivity activist and Founder of the Plus Size is me movement, Lala Neriah Tshabalala. She wore an amazing number from Nori Clothing’s collection. The piece was a curve accentuating black dress with pleated distractions and a laced up front. It was an excellent mix of South Africa and Nigeria as she moved her beautiful, voluptuous curves to the beat of Justin Timberlake’s  Sexy Back.

Quickly following in stride were the designers and models moving in tune to Alessia Cara’s Scars To Your Beautiful bringing the magnificent show to the finish line with what has become a trademark runway selfie.
