US Plus size fashion retailer, Torrid is set to auction off a one-of-a-kind, hand painted print, black faux leather jacket which was recreated by one of the brand’s Designers, Erica. The jacket was inspired by the brand’s runway collection which debuted at NYFW, 2017 to celebrate the International Women’s Day.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Torrid Foundation which launched last year to help and support women through donations, roundups of both online and in-store purchases, product sales and fundraising events.
The bidding for the limited edition jacket will begin on Thursday the 8th of March, 2018.
Here’s what Erica shared on her Instagram about recreating the jacket;
“I always wanted to design, but I also always wanted to be sure whatever, whenever, wherever I designed it was with heart and purpose. Torrid, gave me the opportunity of my dreams to create cool, empowering pieces for beautiful women that love fashion just as much I do but unfortunately don’t get represented in over half the stores available to anyone around the world. So this was for every strong female regardless of shape, size & color- to feel like the baddest babe to walk into any room and slay life. Thank you Torrid for making these girls dreams come true!”
