It’s a Women Affair as the Ladies of Laughter Bring You Comedy With a Twist
It’s still Women’s History Month and we are in no rush to exit this season as we #PressForProgress in all areas of inequality, freedom, body positivity and career recognition. With that in view, Nigeria’s very own Chioma Omeruah will host an all female cast comedy show this weekend. As we know, comedy in Africa is largely dominated by men and the show (tagged) Ladies of Laughter wants to prove women can be just as funny or funnier even than our male counterparts.
Producer of the show, Eunice Showunmi Adeyemi of Q21Solutions first conceived the idea of organizing an all female cast comedy show two years ago. According to Eunice, she became dissatisfied with the lack of utilization of the female comedians by clients who claim that female comedians are not funny. These continuous dialogues with clients propelled her to organize an event such as this reaching out to Chigul to be the hostess for the event, but that dream didn’t materialize until now.
Have you ever imagined what it’d be like having the stage graced by the best of female comedians in the metropolitan city of Lagos? Ladies of Laughter is about to paint your weekend in all shades of hysterics. It’s happening at the Grand ballroom of the EKO Hotel and Suites this Friday by 7pm, featuring Olufunke Ogunboye (aka Lepacious Bose), Princess, Helen Paul, Chigul, Wofai Fada, Mandy, Omotunde Adebowale-David and many others.
Many of the Ladies of Laughter are seasoned comics with decades of industry experience under their belts.
