17 Reasons Why Christian Siriano is The Red Carpet Hero Right Now
At this point it is obvious that no one gets it quite like American fashion designer Christian Siriano as he made a huge fashion statement at the Oscars red carpet last week dressing 17 celebrities of different sizes, ages and races.
It all started in 2016 when he brought diversity to his shows at the NYFW. Featuring plus size models like Ashley Graham, Candice Huffine and others on his runways, he defined what body positivity means. His ability to stretch fashion boundaries by dressing women whom his contemporaries would rather not dress like Leslie Jones to name a few is one of many reasons why he was the choice of 17 stars at this year’s Oscars. No wonder he was the hero of the night as our plus size celebrities showed up in his dresses.
From dressing acting genius and political commentator Whoopi Goldberg in a bright and belted teal floral gown to Rachel Bloom giving out all the right vibes looking stunning in a blue velvety gown and even Keala Settle whose outstanding performance at the Oscars melted hearts was all shades of gorgeous in a nude, curve fitting beaded applique on the red carpet, his body positivity message became very clear “All women deserve to look good on the red carpet”.
His advocacy over the years, that all women should be accounted for by designers when designing dresses obviously paid off. Coupled with the #TimesUp movement and body positivity and diversity movement, Christian Siriano became the one designer who gets the political parlance of this time in fashion.
Thumbs up to Christian Siriano for his body positivity and size inclusion message
